Introduction
This Cookies Policy explains how Tal Tech Nova Limited, operating as Complier ("we", "us", or "our"), uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Complier platform at www.usecomplier.com and any associated mobile or web applications (collectively, the "Platform").
This Policy is issued in compliance with Article 19 of the NDPC General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025, which requires data controllers and processors to provide a clear, prominent, and accessible cookie notice and to obtain valid consent from users before deploying non-essential cookies or tracking tools.
Please read this Policy carefully. By accepting non-essential cookies when prompted on the Platform, you consent to their use as described herein. If you do not consent, you may decline non-essential cookies without being denied access to core Platform functionality.
Cookie Consent Requirements Under Nigerian Law
Under the NDPA 2023 and Article 19 of the GAID 2025
- Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous- silence, inactivity, pre-ticked boxes, or scrolling past a notice does not constitute valid consent;
- You must be given a genuine and equal choice to "Accept" or "Reject" non-essential cookies;
- Our cookie notice is displayed prominently on the Platform- the GAID expressly provides that a cookie notice placed only at the bottom of a webpage is insufficient and constitutes a lack of transparency;
- You have the right to withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time, without detriment to your use of the Platform's essential features;
- We maintain records of consents obtained, including the date, time, scope of consent, and the version of the Policy to which consent was given.
Categories of Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential to the functioning of the Platform and do not require your consent under Article 19 of the GAID, provided they do not process sensitive data, financial data, or data stored privately by you. Without these cookies, core services such as logging in, navigating between pages, and completing compliance tasks cannot be delivered.
Examples of strictly necessary cookies:
- Session management cookies: to keep you logged in during an active session;
- Security cookies: to detect and prevent fraudulent activity, including CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) protection;
- Load balancing cookies: to distribute Platform traffic across servers and maintain performance;
- Accessibility preference cookies: to remember accessibility settings you have applied.
Strictly necessary cookies are active by default. They do not track you for marketing purposes and are deleted when your session ends or within a short period thereafter.
Functional / Preference Cookies
These cookies enhance your experience by remembering choices you make on the Platform, such as language preferences, dashboard layout settings, or notification preferences. They are not strictly necessary but improve usability. These cookies require your consent.
Examples:
- Dashboard preference cookies: remembering how you have configured your compliance dashboard;
- Language or region preference cookies;
- Notification preference cookies.
Analytics and Performance Cookies
These cookies allow us to understand how users interact with the Platform — which features are used most, where users encounter difficulties, and how Platform performance can be improved. The data collected is aggregated and does not identify individual users directly. These cookies require your consent.
Examples:
- Page view and session duration tracking;
- Error logging and crash reporting;
- Feature usage analytics.
- We use privacy-respecting analytics tools and do not share raw analytics data with advertising networks.
Marketing and Targeting Cookies
We currently do not deploy third-party marketing or advertising cookies on the Complier Platform. If we introduce such cookies in the future, this Policy will be updated, and we will seek your fresh, specific consent before placing them on your device.
Cookie Retention & Lifespan
Cookies are retained for varying periods depending on their type:
- Session cookies: deleted automatically when you close your browser or end your session;
- Persistent cookies: remain on your device for a set period (usually between 30 days and 12 months), or until you delete them manually or withdraw consent;
- We do not retain cookie-derived personal data beyond the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy.
You can see the specific retention period for each cookie in our Cookie Consent Management Centre, accessible at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link on the Platform.
Third-Party Cookies
Where third-party service providers embedded in the Platform (such as payment processors or analytics tools) set their own cookies, those cookies are governed by the respective third party's own cookie or privacy policy. We will identify any such third-party cookies in our Cookie Consent Management Centre and require your consent before they are activated.
We do not allow third parties to use cookies placed on the Platform to collect your data for their own independent commercial purposes without your explicit consent.
Managing and Withdrawing Consent
Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit the Platform, a cookie consent banner will be prominently displayed in a manner that significantly obstructs the visible area of the page, in compliance with Article 19 of the GAID. The banner will give you a clear and equal choice to "Accept All", "Reject Non-Essential", or "Manage Preferences". You must make an active selection — no pre-ticked boxes or implied consent.
Cookie Settings Centre
You can review, adjust, or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking on the "Cookie Settings" link found on every page of the Platform.
You may toggle individual cookie categories on or off. Withdrawal of consent for non-essential cookies will take effect promptly, though it will not affect cookies already placed prior to withdrawal.
Browser-Level Cookie Controls
You may also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete cookies stored on your device;
- Block all cookies or cookies from specific sites;
- Receive a notification when a cookie is set.
Please note that disabling all cookies at browser level may impair your ability to use the Platform, including logging in and completing compliance tasks. Guidance on cookie management for common browsers:
- Google Chrome: chrome://settings/cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: about:preferences#privacy
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and website data
- Microsoft Edge: edge://settings/content/cookies
Opt-Out of Analytics
If you have consented to analytics cookies and wish to withdraw that consent, you may do so through the Cookie Settings Centre on the Platform, or by adjusting your browser settings as described above.
Cookie Notice Display Requirement (GAID Compliance)
Article 19 of the GAID 2025 specifically requires that cookie notices be displayed in a manner that "significantly obstructs the middle, left, or right side of the homepage" and that placement at the bottom of a webpage is considered a lack of transparency. Our cookie notice is designed and deployed in full compliance with this requirement.
The notice:
- Is displayed before any non-essential cookie is placed;
- Identifies the categories of cookies used and their purposes;
- Names Tal Tech Nova Limited (Complier) as the data controller deploying the cookies;
- Explains how consent may be withdrawn;
- Provides equal prominence to both "Accept" and "Reject" options.
Changes to This Cookies Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, our service providers, or applicable regulatory requirements under the NDPA and GAID. Where changes are material, we will provide notice on the Platform and may request fresh consent for any new categories of cookies. The most current version of this Cookies Policy is always available on the Platform. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document indicates when it was last revised.
